Big Brothers Big Sisters of Topeka Programs

Community-Based Program

Spend time with a child three times a month for one year. You and your Little will have the opportunity to decide when you get together and what activities you do. It can be as simple as playing catch in the park or making dinner.

Bigs in Schools (formerly known as Everybody Wins!) School-Based Program

Do you have one lunch hour a week to spend with a child? Visit a nearby elementary school and spend lunch reading and talking with a child. The commitment is just one school year. What a great way to give back without taking up work or leisure time!

Guard Bigs & Guard Littles - NEW!

Guard Bigs and Guard Littles is a program for youth whose parents have become, been, or were deployed. Children from the age of six (6) to seventeen (17) are eligible to participate in this program. This commitment lasts for one year or the length of the deployment for all the participants. Children of the Kansas National Guard will have the opportunity to gather together, bond with their Big, and have fun. We all want to support the troops helping secure our freedom around the world, now we have an opportunity to support their children while they are away from their family.

Pass It On - NEW!

Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors Program is a program focusing on the great outdoors. Littles will be matched with outdoor enthusiasts who want to share their experiences with a child. Just like the other programs it is open to all of our children on the waiting list and the match would be for a year. Pass It On mentors will concentrate on activities like hunting, fishing, hiking camping and anything else dealing with nature. With this day and age of technology, children are not spending as much time outside. The Pass It On program offers a mentoring relationship while drawing on the love and appreciation of mother nature.
